Rajasthan, the land of Kings has always intrigued me. Its vibrant colours, pulsating people, exquisite handicraft, folklore and the never ending sand dunes. Even though I have traveled a lot into the vivid land, it still calls me for more. It's haunting beauty never fails to attract me.The contrasting hues always made me more interested in it's heritage. The simple, elegant beauty of the palaces and the confined lives of many in them. The panoramic sand dunes and the harsh living conditions. The barrenness and richly carved structures stand as a witness to the bygone era.

Through my travel into the hearts of Jaisalmer and Bikaner I came across many unknown yet interesting faces. Some were obliging enough to strike a pose in front of my camera. Other simply shrugged and went away. It's the ones who went away indifferently etched something in mind. While travelling back home I made it a point to squiggle  something on a rough sheet of paper. While going through my scrapbook today, I stumbled upon some of these doodles of people and buildings. More coming up soon !  :)

Material needed Recyled cds- lots and lots of it. Adhesive  Scissors Decoarative material- colours, glitters, beads, paper, sketch pens Bottles, newspaper etc.  Used beer bottle and cds used to make this bottle. The cd was cut up into small pieces with scissors and then stuck to the bottle using adhesive. It gives a mosaic look. The bottle can be used for  keeping small indoor plants or simply as a decorative piece. It looks amazing when different light sources strikes it, almost giving it a disco ball effect.  Cd coasters The cds have first been lacquered with acrylic colours. It was then scratched using any sharp material like scissor, pencil, old pen etc. Any interesting designs can be made on this. To give it a finishing touch, it was given a coat of varnish and voila! The coasters are ready to be used.  The picture is self descriptive. Cd are used to make simple animals using any decorative material lying at home

Quilling me softly !

Quiling is an art form that involves using paper strips that are rolled,shaped and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quill to create a basic coil shape. The paper is then glued at the tip and these shaped coils are arranged to form flowers, leaves and various ornamental patterns similar to ironwork.                                       Basic Quilling shapes Quiling has become an easy craft these days and many many tools are available in the market.  Pre-cut papers, needle, embossing tools, paper crimpers, quilling combs etc are easily available to create even the most complicated designs. With a little bit of patience you can create many wonderful things. I have created these without using a quilling kit but only paper strips, rolled by hand. Art Attack!

Recycled wine bottle Multicolored  thread and wool used to cover an old wine bottle with glue. It can be used as planter or simply for decoration. Using ropes gives a awesome rustic look. Great creative with different colour threads. :)                                                                     Pen stand- recycled newspapers Old newspaper rolled into circles and then put together to make a vase. They are rolled to look like small snails. The base is made in the same way, paper rolled into a circle (depending on how big you want your vase to be). You need immense patience to just keep making these rolls and can get frustrating at times. :) Once done, colour them with acrylic colours for more durability and start attaching it to the base with an  adhesive. There would be some gaps in between the circles which can be filled with smaller circles wherever needed. Once finished coat it with varnish for better durability. This can be used as a vase,
